His trademark song (With Arms Wide Open by Creed) will be playing soon. Please be patient.
Daniel was born on December 23, 1983; the only child of Daniel and Sue Young. Daniel walked and talked early. He was always advanced for his age. He had a zest for life and was extremely intelligent. At the time of his death, he was a junior at H. L. Bourgeois High School in Gray, Louisiana. His teachers loved him and said that they wished they could have cloned him. He was inducted into the National Honor Society. He was always on the Honor Roll, advanced for his abilities through all of his school years. Daniel's interests were bowling, football, wrestling and rock music.
His favorite interest was football. The Green Bay Packers was his favorite team. He was a huge fan of Brett Favre. He was such a huge fan of the Green Bay Packers that his parents buried him in his new Green Bay t-shirt (he would have received it for Christmas). He was buried in the hat in the photo above. Daniel was getting a new Green Bay hat for Christmas also, but it was put on the side of him in his green casket. His trademark was his Leather Green Bay hat. Everyone who knew Daniel knew that he did not go anywhere except school without his Leather Green Bay Packers hat. The year that Green Bay played Denver in the Superbowl -- Daniel was very upset because he said that Denver had cheated and won. (Daniel's father was a Denver fan) Daniel has collected many Green Bay Packers memorabilia. He always wanted to meet Brett Favre.
His favorite bands were Creed and Korn. His favorite songs were "Arms Wide Open" by Creed, which was played at his funeral, and "Higher" by Creed. He was a Tiger Cub, Cub Scout, and Boy Scout. Daniel should be an inspiration to young people because he was focused on what he wanted. Here is a poem given to Daniel's parents (Daniel & Sue Young) at the wake:
May you always walk in sunshine
And Gods love around you flow
For the happiness you gave me
No one will ever know
It broke my heart to lose you
But you did not go alone
A part of me went with you
The day God called you home
A million times I needed you
A million times I cried
If love could have saved you Daniel,
You never would have died
Daniel's short life ended on December 20, 2000 in a tragic accident. He will always be loved and greatly missed by his friends and family.
